·        Late Summer Sparkle - Chris is well into organising this event on 24th Sept 2011, 11am to 6pm at Harefield BaptistChurch, Rickmansworth Road, Harefield, UB9 6JX. £10 entry. Refreshments provided but bring your lunch. Items for sale, Free raffle. The three demonstrators will be Karen Davies, Ceri Griffiths and Mark Willis, for moreinfo use the contact form.

Any member is welcome to attend and represent their branch, they do not have to be on the committee. Each branch should send two representatives although often one only attends which is fine. Please advise your committee you want to attend so the form can be returned with your name(s) and then your paperworkwill be ready for you. Mileage is paid for by the Guild for the branchrepresentatives that attend. It would be great to get more Region 8 attendance.Elaine, Jackie and I will all be there this year and look forward to seeingyou.

 Brighton Exhibition 7thMay 2011 and next exhibition 18th May 2013. We would like to thank you all for helping to make our exhibition so successful and such a friendly place to be. We saw some of you and we do hope everyone else enjoyed themselves. Thank you cards were left for each branch that helped on the day and once again we thank everyone who worked so hard tohelp you enjoy it. You should see further thanks in BS News, plus some of our photos and all of the results. We have also found a larger room for the hands on which also means we will be looking to run extra subjects too.J If anyone has any suggestions for the next competition schedule whether branch theme or individual entries, please bring them to the October region 8 meeting or email them to us. We will have a new chairman of judges as we have to alter each time and we are delighted to tell you that we have Jan Thorpe who is the National Chairman of Judges.

·        Windsor Saturday 20thAugust -You may recall Janet from Windsor who used to help with branch tables and ran the charity cakes stand in 2009. Well unfortunately she is unable to continue with cake decoration as she is now in a home. Windsor Branch have been asked to sell ALL of Janet's cake decorating stuff including made up floral displays etc at their WI Hall in Datchet from 12 -2.30pm, which will be during a workshop they are running. Anyone and everyone is welcome.

·        Karen Davies Workshop and Demonstration Sunday 25thSeptember 2011 - 10am to 4.30pm St James’ Junior School Sandrock Road, Tunbridge Wells,Kent TN2 3PR. Open to members and non members.

Morning Workshop - Make a Teddy Bear in a dress cake top. 10am to 1pm, members £22.50 and visitors £25. £10 non returnable deposit required to secure place.

Afternoon Demonstration 2.30pm to 4.30pm Members £4 and Visitors £6. Both events members £25 & Visitors £30 Karen’s shop plus 2 others. Tea, coffee and cake.
